How to get someone's TikTok banned when it is a shop, a bot or a duet
Short answer. Nobody but TikTok can ban an account, so how to get someone's TikTok banned comes down to reporting the violation through the route built for that target. Accounts and videos go through the in-app Report menu and TikTok's strike system. Shops and sellers go through the shop page and the seller's Account Health Rating. Bots go in as spam reports. A ban follows only when a reviewer confirms a broken rule.
Most answers to how to banned someone on TikTok stop at the profile menu. That covers one target out of five. A counterfeit seller, a shoppable video, a ring of spam bots and a duet that mocks you each sit in a different review queue, judged against a different rulebook, and a report filed in the wrong queue is closed without action even when the complaint is genuine.
This guide maps each target to the report that reaches it, the enforcement record a confirmed report adds to, and the signs that show whether a ban actually happened. Menu paths were checked against TikTok's help pages and TikTok Shop's seller documentation in October 2026. When reports stall and the harm continues, the case moves to casework under our content removal service.
94.4% of the videos TikTok removed in the first quarter of 2026 came down within 24 hours, most of them found by TikTok's own systems rather than by a user's report.TikTok Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, January–March 2026.
How to get someone's TikTok banned: which report reaches which target?
Only TikTok can ban an account, so the honest version of how to get someone's TikTok banned is to report the exact violation, on the exact item, through the route built for that target. A report opens a review case. A reviewer or classifier judges the item against one Community Guideline or one TikTok Shop policy, a confirmed breach adds to an enforcement record, and the ban comes when that record crosses a threshold.
The target decides the route. TikTok keeps two separate enforcement records that matter here: the strike record on a TikTok account, and the Account Health Rating on a TikTok Shop seller. The two are scored on different clocks, which is why one can end while the other carries on.
| Target | Where the report starts | What a confirmed report adds to | What the end point looks like |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal account or video | Report on the video, comment, LIVE or profile | Account strikes, which expire after 90 days | Account banned; the profile stops loading |
| TikTok Shop seller | The More (···) menu on the shop or product page, or the order page | Account Health Rating over a rolling 180 days | Shop deactivated; the TikTok profile may stay live |
| Shoppable video or LIVE | Press and hold the video, or the ··· menu on the tagged product | The creator's content record and the listing review, separately | Video or product link removed |
| Spam bots | Report account with the spam or fake-account reason | Fake-account enforcement, judged account by account | Accounts removed, usually in batches by TikTok's own detection |
| Duet | Report on the duet itself, not the original video | The duetting creator's strike record | Duet removed; the strike lands on its author |
The last column is the honest limit. A report decides whether one item breaks a rule; the ban is a consequence TikTok applies later, sometimes weeks later, once confirmed violations stack up inside the window. No route lets a viewer choose the outcome, and no number of identical reports turns a lawful video into a violation. The counting rules behind that threshold are set out in our guide to what actually triggers a TikTok ban.
What gets a TikTok account permanently banned?
A TikTok account is permanently banned in one of two ways: it collects enough strikes inside one policy or one feature before they expire, or it commits a single severe violation. TikTok names the first-strike category plainly: promoting or threatening violence, child sexual abuse material, and real-world violence or torture. Everything else needs repeated, confirmed violations inside a 90-day window.
That is the whole answer to how to get someone permanently banned on TikTok: a lasting ban follows either one severe breach or a pattern of confirmed ones. TikTok's Community Guidelines put it the same way, describing bans for “repeated rule violations” or “a single, severe violation”. TikTok explained in 2023 why it counts strikes per policy and per feature, and the reason was its own data on repeat behaviour.
Almost 90% of accounts that break TikTok's rules do so again through the same feature, and over 75% repeat the same policy category.TikTok Newsroom, “Supporting creators with an updated account enforcement system”, 2 February 2023.
The shorthand search “get TikTok user banned” skips that sequence. A first report on a mild breach usually removes one video and adds one strike, and the account stays up. The second and third confirmed reports in the same category, filed while the earlier strikes are still live, are what move the account toward the threshold. Strikes expire after 90 days, so a report filed four months after the last confirmed one starts the count again.
Meta runs a slower clock: an Instagram strike stays on record for a year, so the arithmetic in how many reports an Instagram ban takes does not transfer to TikTok.
How do you report a TikTok violation so it reaches the right reviewer?
To report a TikTok violation, open the exact item that breaks the rule, whether that is the video, comment, LIVE, direct message or profile, tap Report, and choose the reason that names the rule the item breaks. A report on a profile reviews the profile. A report on one video reviews that video, and item-level reports are the ones that produce strikes.
Open the item, not just the account
On a video, press and hold or tap Share, then Report. On a comment, press and hold it. On a profile, tap the share arrow or the ··· menu, then Report and Report account.
Pick the reason that names the breach
Harassment, hate, frauds and scams, impersonation, spam and intellectual property go to differently trained reviewers. The reason you choose routes the case, so a scam reported as harassment can be closed as no violation.
Use the context field where TikTok offers one
One line such as “posted my home address in three videos this week” tells the reviewer what to look for inside a long video.
Report each violating item separately
One report covers one item. Five harassing videos need five reports, each with its own outcome and its own possible strike.
Keep your own record first
Screenshot each item with its URL and date before reporting it. A removed video cannot be recovered later for a police report or a legal claim.
A person without a TikTok account can still report through TikTok's Report a problem form, which sorts complaints by topic. The full in-app walkthrough, including who learns the reporter's name, is in which TikTok report reason fits the problem, and the same item-first habit applies on every other platform covered in our guide to reporting online abuse.
Typed without the apostrophe, how to get someones tiktok banned returns the same mix of block tutorials and forum threads as the correct spelling. A block removes someone from your view and stops them messaging, commenting on or dueting your videos. A block does nothing to the person's standing with TikTok, and only a confirmed report can lead toward a ban, which is the real difference behind every how to banned someone on TikTok search.
How to report a TikTok Shop seller
To report a TikTok Shop seller, open the product page or the shop page, tap the More (···) menu, choose Report, select the reason that fits, such as counterfeit, prohibited product, misleading listing or seller conduct, and submit. Order problems such as non-delivery belong in the order's own refund or return request, and counterfeit claims from brand owners go to TikTok Shop's intellectual property form.
That gives three routes, and learning how to report a TikTok shop starts with choosing among them. Searches for how to report a seller on TikTok, report a seller on TikTok Shop and report a TikTok shop all land on the same menus, but each menu reviews something different.
| Problem | Route | What gets reviewed |
|---|---|---|
| Item never arrived, wrong item, refused return | Orders, then the order, then a refund or return request | The order record, by TikTok Shop customer service |
| Fake, unsafe or banned product; misleading listing | ··· on the product page, then Report | The listing, against TikTok Shop product policies |
| Seller pressure, off-platform payment requests, scam behaviour | ··· on the shop page, then Report | The seller's conduct, which can cost rating points |
| Counterfeit of your own brand, copied listing photos | The TikTok Shop IPR infringement form (rights owners only) | Your registration against the listing |
How to report a TikTok Shop seller well comes down to the order number. A listing report without one is a claim about a product page. A report with the order number, a screenshot of the listing and a photo of what arrived is a documented mismatch, and that is the version a reviewer can act on.
Sellers who lose those reviews lose points. TikTok Shop now scores every US seller on an Account Health Rating, which replaced the older violation-points system in July 2026; the old system reset every 90 days, and the new one has no reset.
The Account Health Rating runs from 0 to 1,000 over a rolling 180-day window. A new seller starts at 200, restrictions begin at 150, and a shop that reaches zero is permanently deactivated.TikTok Shop Seller University, Account Health Rating requirements, as reported by AdBeacon, 27 July 2026.
For a seller, the answer to how to get someone's TikTok banned is a deactivated shop, the seller-side equivalent of a ban, and it is scored separately from the seller's TikTok profile. That is why a seller you reported can still be posting videos after the store itself has gone.
How to report a vid on TikTok Shop
Searches for how to report a vid on TikTok Shop usually mean a shoppable video or LIVE with a product tag. Press and hold the video and tap Report to report the content, then tap the ··· menu on the linked product to report the item itself. The two reports go to different reviewers, so a misleading demo that sells a counterfeit deserves both.
In the first half of 2025 TikTok Shop declined 1.4 million seller applications, removed more than 700,000 sellers and rejected over 70 million product listings before they went live.TikTok Shop Safety Report, January–June 2025, via Social Media Today, 9 November 2025.
Sellers sometimes face the reverse problem: a rival's fake reviews, or a wave of false reports against good listings. That problem runs through different rules, covered in what a negative review removal service can remove and, for a storefront's map listing, Google's review removal grounds.
Is there a TikTok Shop phone number for reports?
No. TikTok Shop does not run a phone line for buyer reports. Reports go through the in-app menus, the order page's customer service chat and TikTok's web feedback form. A report TikTok Shop phone number found on a complaint-aggregator site or in a search ad is not a TikTok reporting channel, and it should be treated as a scam risk until TikTok's own help pages list it.
Fake support numbers are an established pattern. The “agent” asks for the order details, then a card number, a one-time code or a remote-access app “to process the refund”. The US Federal Trade Commission's consumer guidance is blunt about the tell: no real company asks for payment by gift card, wire transfer or cryptocurrency to fix an order.
People reported losing $2.1 billion to scams that started on social media in 2025, and more than 40% of those scams began with an ad.US Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Sentinel Data Spotlight, 27 April 2026.
How do you report spam bots, and does a spam report bot work?
Report spam bots one account at a time: open the profile, tap Report, then Report account, and pick the spam or fake-account reason. For comment floods on your own videos, press and hold a comment and use the option to manage several at once. A “spam report bot” that fires hundreds of automated reports at someone else bans nobody, because TikTok judges each item against a rule, not by volume.
Three phrasings of one search, spam report TikTok bot, bot spam report TikTok and TikTok report spam bot, mix two different requests. One is a creator buried in bot comments who wants them gone. The other is someone shopping for a tool that mass-reports a rival. The first has a working route. The second, a shortcut answer to how to banned someone on TikTok, buys nothing but risk, because those services usually ask for a TikTok login, and a seller who holds the buyer's login holds the buyer's account. Our test of what TikTok mass report bots actually do sets out the evidence.
TikTok removed 86,288,705 fake accounts in the first quarter of 2026, alongside 25,764,372 accounts suspected of belonging to users under 13.TikTok Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, January–March 2026.
On your own videos the bulk tools work faster than single reports. Since May 2021 TikTok has let creators select up to 100 comments at once to delete or report them, and to block the accounts behind them in the same pass, as TechCrunch reported at launch. Keyword filters stop the same bot phrases from reaching the comment section again.
Bot rings often clone a real creator's name and photo to push links. If the clone is of you, impersonation is a stronger reason than spam, because it is judged against a named person rather than a pattern; Instagram applies the same logic in its impersonation report and the ID it asks for.
Scam shops and bot rings rarely stay on one app. The usual pattern is a TikTok comment or DM that moves the buyer to another platform for payment, where TikTok's reports cannot reach. Report the account where the conversation continued as well:
| Where the conversation moved | Report route |
|---|---|
| Facebook profile, Page or Marketplace | Report a fake Facebook account; how Facebook decides a ban |
| Instagram account or DM | Reporting an Instagram account; what happens after an Instagram report |
| X (Twitter) account | How to report an X account; taking an X account down; what an X removal service can file |
| Telegram account or channel | Report a Telegram account |
| Discord server | Reporting a Discord server |
| Snapchat | Report someone on Snapchat; taking a Snapchat account down |
| LinkedIn profile or company page | Which LinkedIn takedown route fits |
How do you report a TikTok duet?
To report a TikTok duet, open the duet itself, not the original video it responds to, tap Share or press and hold, choose Report and pick the reason that fits the duetting creator's half: harassment, hate, impersonation or misleading content. A duet is a separate post owned by the person who made it, so a confirmed report removes the duet and adds the strike to that person's account.
Reporting the original video instead is the most common mistake when people report a TikTok duet. That puts the original, often your own, under review and leaves the duet up. If the duet mocks you personally, harassment is the reason that fits, and a pile-on that spills onto Facebook follows Meta's tiered rules in our Facebook harassment reporting guide.
A duet that states something false about you or your business may be defamation, which TikTok handles through its legal reporting channel rather than the Community Guidelines; the evidence that route needs is covered in online defamation removal. A copyright claim is weaker than it looks. TikTok's terms let other users reuse content through features such as Duet when the setting allows it, so a DMCA takedown notice fits a straight re-upload of your video far better than a duet you permitted.
Prevention sits in Settings and privacy, then Privacy, then Duet, where the choices are Everyone, Friends or Only you. TikTok switched Duet off for content made by users under 16 in January 2021 and set 16 and 17-year-olds to Friends by default, so a duet of a young teenager's video should not exist at all.
How to know if someone got banned on TikTok
TikTok publishes no ban notices, so how to know if someone got banned on TikTok comes down to two signals: the outcome updates on your own reports, and what the profile shows. TikTok posts report outcomes to your inbox and keeps a history of them in the Safety Center under Settings and privacy. A profile that stops loading may be banned, deleted, deactivated or blocking you, and the outside view alone cannot tell which.
| What you see | Possible explanations | How to narrow it |
|---|---|---|
| Profile does not load; search finds nothing | Banned; deleted or deactivated by the owner; blocking you | Open the profile URL in a logged-out browser. If it loads there, you were blocked |
| Profile loads but the reported videos are gone | Videos removed, set to private, or deleted by the owner | Check your report history for a “removed” outcome on each item |
| Profile returns within a few weeks | Owner reactivated inside the 30-day window, or an appeal succeeded | Earlier outcomes stand; new violations need new reports |
| Same person under a new handle | Ban evasion | Report the new account and say it replaces a banned one |
For anyone who has followed every step of how to banned someone on TikTok, this is the frustrating part. Deletion and bans look alike from outside because TikTok deactivates a self-deleted account for 30 days before deleting it permanently, and a deactivated profile vanishes the same way a banned one does. A report outcome in your inbox is the only first-party signal, and it describes the item you reported, not the account's final status.
The fourth row is where checking turns back into reporting, and where how to get someone's TikTok banned has a second chance. TikTok's Community Guidelines prohibit ban evasion, so a new account run by a banned person is itself a violation, and saying so in the report gives the reviewer the link between the two accounts.
When will reporting not get someone banned?
Reporting will not get someone banned when the content breaks no TikTok rule, when the harm happens off TikTok, or when the dispute is legal rather than a guideline breach. Insults below TikTok's harassment line, honest negative reviews, a competitor's lawful video and a seller's late delivery all stay up after a report, and the tools there are blocking, the order dispute or a legal claim.
Organised reporting does the opposite of what its organisers want. Identical reports with no breach behind them are closed, and the accounts filing them can be flagged themselves. Anyone still asking how to get someone's TikTok banned after a run of “no violation” outcomes is usually looking at a problem that needs a different instrument.
Where a TikTok account publishes your private information, threats or false claims and the reports have stalled, the case usually needs a documented privacy or legal route. That is the work our removal casework takes on, with the limits of each route stated before anything is filed. This guide is not legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
Can you get someone's TikTok banned without them knowing you reported them?
Yes. TikTok keeps in-app reports confidential, and the reported account sees only a notice that its content broke a guideline, never the name of the person who reported it. Intellectual property and legal claims work differently, because those complaints can be shared with the uploader so they can respond.
How many reports does it take to get someone banned on TikTok?
There is no report count. One accurate report on a severe violation can end an account on the first strike, while thousands of reports on a lawful video change nothing. What moves an account toward a ban is the number of confirmed violations inside a 90-day window.
Will reporting a TikTok Shop seller get their TikTok account banned?
Not directly. A shop report is reviewed against TikTok Shop policies and can cost the seller Account Health Rating points, and a shop that reaches zero is deactivated. The seller's TikTok profile carries its own strike record, so it is banned only if its own videos or comments break the Community Guidelines.
Does TikTok tell you when someone you reported gets banned?
No. TikTok tells you the outcome of each report, such as whether a video was removed, in your inbox and in your report history. It does not announce that an account was banned, and from outside a banned account looks the same as one its owner deleted.
Is blocking the same as banning someone on TikTok?
No. Blocking stops one person from messaging you, commenting on your videos or dueting them, and it takes effect at once. A ban is TikTok's decision about the whole account and follows only confirmed violations. For anyone asking how to banned someone on TikTok from their own space, blocking is the tool that needs no review.
What is the TikTok Shop customer service phone number?
TikTok Shop does not publish a phone number for buyer support or reports. Help runs through the in-app customer service chat on the order page and the Report option on product and shop pages. Numbers listed on third-party sites or in search ads are not TikTok channels and are a common route for refund scams.
Reported the shop or account, and nothing changed?
Send the links, the report outcomes and any order numbers. The review sets out which TikTok route is still open, the evidence it needs and the limits of each option.
