4chan doxxing removal, from the thread back to the broker in the order that limits harm
Short answer. 4chan doxxing removal works in two layers. First, report the post itself: 4chan's global rules ban posting or requesting personal information, so use the post's Report button, then file Google's personal-information removal for the thread URL and any archive copies. Second, opt out of the people-search sites the dox was copied from, such as BeenVerified, Spokeo, Radaris and Whitepages, or the same address resurfaces in the next thread.
Most guides on 4chan doxxing removal stop at the first layer. They explain how to report a post, and the reader does exactly that, the post disappears, and three weeks later the same home address, phone number and relatives' names appear in a new thread on a different site. A dox is rarely original research. It is usually a people-search profile pasted into a forum, so a cleanup that never touches the source only removes one copy.
This guide covers both layers. The first half takes each venue where doxes commonly land, 4chan, Kiwi Farms, Pastebin, Tumblr, Bluesky, Discord and Kick, and states what each one will and will not remove. The second half covers the brokers, the opt-out route for each, how often profiles return, and what a paid personal information removal service does that a person cannot do alone. It ends with the cases where none of this works.
Emergency 4chan doxxing removal: what to do in the first hour
Emergency 4chan doxxing removal starts with evidence, not reports. Capture the thread URL, the post numbers and full-page screenshots before anything else, because 4chan threads prune off their board within hours and a removed post leaves nothing to show the police, a lawyer or a second platform. Then report, then lock down the accounts and addresses the dox exposed.
The order matters because each step destroys or protects something. A report that succeeds removes the evidence. A privacy setting changed too early can tip off the poster that the target is watching. The sequence below is the one we use on casework when someone writes in the same day a dox goes up.
-
Preserve the thread and every copy
Save the page as a PDF or screenshot with the URL and post number visible, and search the target's name plus the thread number to find mirrors. Archive copies of 4chan threads often outlive the original by months.
-
Judge whether there is a physical threat
A home address next to a call to "visit" or a swatting suggestion is a police matter first. Call local police on the non-emergency line, or the emergency line if the threat is immediate, and ask the station to flag the address. Cyberstalking that causes substantial emotional distress is a federal offence in the US under 18 U.S.C. § 2261A.
-
Report on the venue
Use the venue's own report button and the reason closest to "personal information". On 4chan that is the post's Report option; the rest are covered venue by venue below.
-
File the search-engine removal
Google's personal-information removal covers doxxing pages even when the host refuses to act, so file it for the thread and every mirror the same day.
-
Close the doors the dox opened
Change passwords on any account whose email appears in the dox, turn on app-based two-factor authentication, and ask the mobile carrier for a port-out PIN if the phone number is listed.
Step two outranks everything else. No platform's report queue, including the one behind 4chan doxxing removal, is fast enough to be a safety plan, and a removed post does not remove the readers who already copied the address.
Why doxxing removal has two layers
Doxxing removal has two layers because a dox has two locations: the post where it was published, and the database it was copied from. Removing the post stops new readers finding it there. Removing the database profile stops the next poster rebuilding the same dox in five minutes from a people-search site that sells the address for a few dollars.
Look at what a typical dox contains: a full name with middle initial, current and past addresses, a mobile number, an age, and a list of "possible relatives". That bundle is the exact layout of a people-search results page. When a dox carries relatives' names and old addresses the target never posted anywhere, the source is almost always a broker, and the broker is the one place a single request can remove the whole bundle.
| Layer | What it holds | Who removes it | How long removal lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| The post | The dox as published, plus replies and mirrors | The venue's moderators, then search engines for indexed copies | Until someone reposts it |
| Archives and mirrors | Copies of the thread after it pruned | Each archive operator separately; search engines for visibility | Varies by operator; many never answer |
| The source | The people-search profile the dox was copied from | The broker, through its opt-out form | Often months, until the broker rebuilds the profile from new records |
To remove doxxing content properly, then, the work runs down that table. Reports clear the top row quickly when they work. The bottom row takes longer but is the only row that stops repeats, which is why 4chan doxxing removal that ends at the report button so often has to be done twice.
Can you remove a doxxing thread from 4chan?
Yes, sometimes, and 4chan doxxing removal is most likely while the thread is still live. 4chan's global rules prohibit posting or requesting personal information ("dox") and calls to invasion ("raids") on every board, and volunteer janitors and moderators delete posts that break global rules. The route is the Report link on the individual post, with the global-rule category for personal information. 4chan sends no confirmation and no outcome notice.
To remove doxxing thread from 4chan boards completely, report the opening post and every reply that repeats the address, because deleting one reply leaves the rest of the thread standing. Report each post once; users have described receiving warnings for over-using the report button.
Ofcom fined 4chan £20,000 in October 2025 for failing to answer statutory information requests under the UK Online Safety Act, then a further £450,000 plus £50,000 in March 2026. 4chan has reportedly refused to pay.Ofcom enforcement notices, reported by The Register (13 Oct 2025) and Help Net Security (19 Mar 2026)
Those fines matter for one practical reason: they show that regulator pressure does not move 4chan quickly, so 4chan doxxing removal should not rely on a legal letter addressed to 4chan itself. Reports while the thread is live, search-engine removal afterwards, and source cleanup are the routes that work.
The second problem is the archive. Board threads prune within hours on fast boards, after which they move to a short-lived official archive and, more importantly, to independent third-party archive sites that copy whole boards and keep them indexed for years. Each archive is run by a different operator with its own contact address, and some publish a removal policy for personal information while others ignore every request. 4chan's own moderators have no control over those copies. For an archived thread, the dependable lever for 4chan doxxing removal is the search-engine removal described below, which hides the page from name searches even when the archive keeps it.
4chan was also offline for days after the 14 April 2025 breach in which moderator identities and internal tools were leaked. A target whose dox went up during an outage like that has only the archive and search routes to work with.
How to report doxxing on each platform
How to report doxxing depends on the venue's own rule, because each platform defines private information differently and some will not act on what another removes in minutes. Report from the post, pick the private-information reason where one exists, attach the link rather than a screenshot alone, and keep the confirmation. The table compares the seven venues where doxes most often surface.
Before the table, one point on how to report people for doxxing as opposed to reporting the content. Most platforms let a report name the account as well as the post. Account reports matter when the same person reposts after each deletion, because a pattern of private-information violations is what moves a platform from deleting posts to suspending the poster.
| Venue | Rule that covers doxxing | Report route | What it usually will not remove |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4chan | Global rule against posting or requesting personal information | Report link on each post | Archive copies on other sites; no outcome notice |
| Kiwi Farms | No published removal policy found | None dependable; infrastructure providers instead | Threads about a person; the operator publishes no removal route |
| Pastebin | Terms ban posting third-party personal information | Report button on the paste, or the abuse contact | Pastes already copied to mirrors |
| Tumblr | "Privacy Violations" in the Community Guidelines | Post menu flag, or the privacy-violation form | Information already public with the person's consent |
| Bluesky | Ban on sharing addresses, contact, financial or medical data or IDs without consent | In-app report on the post or account | Information that is not identifiable and verifiable in the app |
| Discord | Doxxing policy: sharing PII without permission and with intent to harm | Report Message, with the message link | Messages in servers the reporter cannot see |
| Kick | Harassment guideline bans the unauthorised release of private information | Report on the stream, clip or chat user | Commentary about a streamer that shares no private details |
How to report a doxxer when the post keeps coming back
How to report a doxxer, rather than the dox, comes down to building a record. Keep a dated list of every post URL, the account that posted it and the report reference, if the platform gives one. That list is what turns separate deletions into an account suspension on platforms that weigh repeat offences, and it is what a police officer or lawyer will ask for first. Where the doxxer also opened accounts posing as the target, an impersonation takedown on the fake profiles runs in parallel, since impersonation rules are stricter and faster than harassment rules on most platforms.
Kiwi Farms doxxing removal
Kiwi Farms doxxing removal through the forum itself rarely succeeds, because the site does not publish a removal policy and exists largely to catalogue named people. The levers that have worked sit underneath the forum: the companies that host it, protect it from attacks and register its domain.
In September 2022 Cloudflare stopped serving the forum, citing "specific, targeted threats" that had escalated over the previous 48 hours, and a second protection provider dropped it days later. In January 2024 the registrar Epik suspended a Kiwi Farms domain, citing doxxing among its reasons. To take down Kiwi Farms doxxing thread pages, then, the practical route is an abuse complaint to whichever infrastructure provider currently serves the site, with a specific threat quoted, plus the search-engine removal below. The host-and-registrar route used against phishing sites follows the same mechanics: identify the provider from DNS and hosting records, and send evidence that matches its acceptable-use policy.
Pastebin doxxing removal
Pastebin doxxing removal is usually quicker. Pastebin's terms forbid posting another person's personal information, so the Report link on the paste, with the reason that matches private information, is the first route; the DMCA form at pastebin.com/dmca is only for copyrighted material. To remove doxxing content from Pastebin when the report goes unanswered, use Pastebin's contact form with the paste URL and the lines that contain the data. Pastebin states that it does not pre-screen pastes and acts at its sole discretion, with no published response time.
Paste dumps also travel. A dox posted on Pastebin is often pushed to a code-hosting repository as a text file at the same time, and GitHub's private-information removal routes cover that case, needing the file link and the line numbers.
How to report doxxing on Tumblr
To report doxxing on Tumblr, open the post's menu and flag it, or use the privacy-violation form linked from the Community Guidelines, which lists "Privacy Violations" as its own category beside harassment. The form asks for the post URL, a description and an email address. Tumblr's Trust & Safety team reviews the report, and the poster can appeal if the post is removed.
Reblogs are the Tumblr-specific problem. Each reblog is its own post on another blog, so report the original and the reblogs that kept the text, starting with the ones that have the most notes.
Bluesky doxxing report
A Bluesky doxxing report goes through the in-app report on the post or the account. Bluesky's Community Guidelines, revised on 19 September 2025, bar sharing home addresses, contact details, financial or medical data, or government IDs without consent. Bluesky's safety team has said it acts on private information only when it is personally identifiable and verifiable within the app, so a vague hint at someone's employer may stay up while a street address comes down.
Bluesky also runs on an open protocol. Posts can be copied by third-party clients and feeds outside Bluesky's moderation, so a removal there clears Bluesky's own app view, not every mirror of it.
How to report someone on Discord for doxxing
To report someone on Discord for doxxing, right-click the message on desktop or press and hold it on mobile, choose Report Message, and pick the category closest to private information. Discord's doxxing policy explainer defines the violation as sharing another person's personally identifiable information without permission and with intent to harm, and Discord's transparency reports note that reports need message links so staff can locate the content.
Server moderators can delete the message faster than Discord's Trust & Safety team, so message a server moderator as well if the server is not hostile. Discord does not usually send the reporter an individual outcome.
Reporting a Kick streamer for doxxing
To report Kick streamer for doxxing incidents, use the report option on the live stream, the clip, or the chat user, and name the moment in the stream where the information appears. Kick's Community Guidelines, rewritten in February 2025, prohibit the unauthorised release of private personal information under the harassment section, while allowing commentary about other streamers that does not share their private details.
Clip the moment first. Live content disappears when the stream ends unless a VOD or clip exists, and a report with no timestamp is hard for a reviewer to verify.
The mainstream platforms
Doxes also land on the large platforms, where the rules are clearer and the routes better documented. X runs a dedicated private-information policy, covered in our guide to getting content taken down on X. On Reddit, the personal-information rule is one of the few that moderators and admins both enforce, and removing Reddit posts that expose a person follows the same report-plus-admin pattern. For Instagram, reporting a single Instagram post handles one dox image, while an Instagram takedown request through Meta's privacy form handles a profile built around exposing someone. When a whole YouTube channel exists to publish a person's details, the guide on taking down a YouTube channel sets out the strike and privacy-complaint routes.
Taking the dox out of Google results
Google removes doxxing pages from its results even when the hosting site refuses to delete them. Google's personal-information removal policy covers contact details shared with an intent to harm, and its "Results about you" tool lets a person request removal of results that show their phone number, email address or home address. The page stays online; it stops appearing in name searches.
For 4chan doxxing removal after a thread has pruned into an archive, or for a Kiwi Farms thread, that is often the most useful single request. File it for each URL separately, choose the doxxing option when the form offers one, and include a screenshot showing the threat or the call to action, since Google weighs intent to harm.
Google's February 2025 update made it possible to request removal of a result directly from the Search results page, and the "Results about you" tool can monitor for new pages that show a person's contact details.Google Search Help, "Find and remove personal contact info" (answer 12719076); TechCrunch, 26 Feb 2025
Bing runs a separate removal form, and Google's decision does not carry over. Our guide on removing personal information from Google walks through the form fields and what a rejected request looks like.
Where the dox came from: BeenVerified, Spokeo, Radaris and Whitepages
Most doxes are copied from people-search sites, and four of them supply the layout seen most often: BeenVerified, Spokeo, Radaris and Whitepages. Each offers a free opt-out, each verifies the request differently, and each can rebuild a profile later from new public records. Remove all four in the same week, then repeat the search a few months later.
Before opting out, search each site for every name variant: maiden name, middle-name forms, nicknames and old cities. Removal guides from DeleteMe and Incogni both report that variants create separate records, and a dox can be rebuilt from the one record left behind. That is why 4chan doxxing removal which skips the brokers tends to repeat.
| Site | What the opt-out needs | Reported processing time | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| BeenVerified | Find the record on its opt-out search, submit an email, click the verification link | About 24–72 hours | Verification link expires after 48 hours; sister sites need separate checks |
| Spokeo | Copy the profile URL, paste it into the opt-out page with an email, confirm by link | 24–48 hours after confirmation | Verification link expires after 24 hours; one URL per profile |
| Radaris | "Control info" on the profile, which leads to an account sign-up and a code | Varies; a removal-status page tracks it | Account requirement; profiles reported to return |
| Whitepages | Paste the profile URL into the suppression-request page, then answer a verification phone call | About 24–72 hours after the call | The call goes to a phone number, which some targets do not want to confirm |
Processing times are as reported in 2025–2026 opt-out guides from Cloaked, DeleteMe and Incogni, which sell removal products; treat them as estimates.
BeenVerified: opt-out and its sister sites
BeenVerified's opt-out runs from its own opt-out search page, not from a paid account. Find the record, submit an email address, and click the verification link within 48 hours. Removal from BeenVerified's search usually follows within a day or three, though search-engine snippets of the old page can linger for weeks. Removal guides note that the opt-out may also cover sister sites such as PeopleLooker and Ownerly, but recommend checking each one afterwards. A BeenVerified removal service submits this same form on the customer's behalf.
How to get removed from Spokeo
How to get removed from Spokeo: find the listing, copy the URL of that specific profile, paste it into Spokeo's opt-out page with an email address, and click the confirmation link within 24 hours. Processing takes about 24–48 hours after confirmation. To get removed from Spokeo completely, repeat that for every profile URL that matches, because Spokeo often holds one listing per address history.
How to get removed from Radaris
How to get removed from Radaris is the awkward one. The "Control info" option on the profile leads to an account sign-up, and the request is then tracked on a removal-status page with a code sent by email. A Radaris profile takedown done this way removes the public listing, but removal guides report that Radaris re-adds people unless the request is repeated. Use a separate email address for the account so the dox does not gain a new contact detail.
Whitepages suppression
Whitepages handles removal as a suppression request: paste the exact profile URL into the suppression page and answer a verification call to the number on the listing. Processing is reported at 24–72 hours after the call. A target whose old number is in the dox but no longer theirs may need to contact Whitepages support instead, since the call cannot be answered.
From 1 August 2026, data brokers registered in California must check the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP) every 45 days and delete matching records, so one DROP request reaches every registered broker.California Privacy Protection Agency, cppa.ca.gov/data_brokers
DROP only helps California residents and only covers registered brokers, but for that group it is the closest thing to a single opt-out that repeats itself. Our ZoomInfo removal guide covers DROP alongside business-contact databases, which feed a different kind of dox: the work email and office address.
Does a BeenVerified removal service do more than an opt-out?
A BeenVerified removal service files the same free opt-out a person can file, then repeats it on a schedule across dozens or hundreds of other brokers. The value is time and repetition, not access. No personal information removal service holds a special channel into BeenVerified, Spokeo, Radaris or Whitepages; each submits the public form, sometimes with the customer's authorisation on file.
In Consumer Reports' 2024 test, only 117 of 332 people-search listings (35%) were removed within four months across seven paid services and two free ones, while the manual opt-out group removed 36 of 47 profiles within a month, nearly 70%. Services cost about $19.99 to $249 a year.Consumer Reports, "Data Defense: Evaluating People-Search Site Removal Services", August 2024
Consumer Reports flagged its own limits: 32 self-selected volunteers, results not statistically significant or nationally representative. The direction is still useful. Manual opt-outs were more effective, and services saved time.
What a personal data removal service actually does
A personal data removal service scans a list of brokers for the customer's name and addresses, submits opt-outs, and rescans every few weeks or months to catch relisted profiles. A spokeo removal service, a radaris removal service and a whitepages removal service are not separate products; they are the same scan-and-submit run on each site. The differences between vendors are the number of brokers covered, how often they rescan, and whether they handle custom requests for sites outside their list.
What a personal information removal service does not do is remove a forum post. Paid personal information removal services work on brokers. They will not report a 4chan thread, write to a Kiwi Farms host or file a Google removal for an archive page, which is why a doxxing target who buys one alone often finds the original dox still in search results.
Choosing the best personal information removal service for a doxxing case
The best personal information removal service for a doxxing target is the one that covers the brokers that appear in the dox. Check the dox against the vendor's broker list before paying: if the dox carries the BeenVerified relatives layout, BeenVerified and its sister sites must be on the list. Then check rescan frequency, because relisting is the failure mode every guide reports, and check whether the vendor will take custom URLs.
What a doxxing removal service adds
A doxxing removal service, as distinct from a broker-removal subscription, handles the first layer too, which is where 4chan doxxing removal actually happens: venue reports, archive operators, search removals and infrastructure complaints, then the broker cleanup behind them. That is the casework Clearline runs under content removal. It cannot promise that a venue or a provider will act, and the limits below apply to it as much as to a person working alone.
When doxxing removal does not work
4chan doxxing removal, like doxxing removal generally, fails in three predictable cases: the venue's operator has decided not to remove anything, the information is a public record the broker is allowed to republish, or the dox has been copied faster than it can be reported. In each case the realistic aim moves from deletion to visibility: search removal, source cleanup and, where there is a threat, police or civil action.
Public records are the hardest of the three. Property records, court filings and voter files are published by government bodies, and a broker opt-out does not remove the underlying record, so a determined poster can rebuild an address from a county assessor's site. Some states let specific groups, such as judges, domestic-violence survivors and some public employees, shield their addresses in those records; that route goes through the state program, not the broker.
Where a dox includes intimate images, the TAKE IT DOWN Act, in force for platforms from 19 May 2026, requires covered platforms to remove the image and known identical copies within 48 hours of a valid request, and the FTC can seek $53,088 per violation. That is a faster, enforceable route for part of a dox, and it sits beside the steps above rather than replacing them.
This guide was written in October 2026 and is not legal advice. Report menus change often; where a label named here has moved, the platform's own help page linked from its report screen is the current version.
Frequently asked questions
How long does 4chan doxxing removal take?
4chan gives no timeline and sends no outcome notice. A reported post on a live thread is often deleted within hours when a janitor sees it, but many threads prune before anyone acts. Archive copies need a separate request to each archive operator and a Google removal request, which Google reviews over several days.
Is a BeenVerified removal service worth paying for?
A BeenVerified removal service saves time but does not get better access than the free opt-out. Consumer Reports' 2024 test found manual opt-outs removed nearly 70% of profiles within a month, against 35% within four months across the services tested. A paid service is most useful for repeat rescans after relisting.
How to remove doxxed information from Google if the site will not delete it?
File Google's personal-information removal request for each URL, choose the doxxing or contact-information option, and include evidence of the threat. If approved, the page stops appearing in Google results for name searches but stays online. File Bing's separate form as well.
Can I report doxxing to the police?
Yes. A dox paired with threats, a call to visit the address or a swatting suggestion should go to local police first. In the US, cyberstalking that causes substantial emotional distress is a federal offence under 18 U.S.C. section 2261A. Bring the preserved URLs, screenshots and report references.
Why does my address keep appearing in new doxes?
The address is still listed on a people-search site, so each new poster copies it again. Opt out of BeenVerified, Spokeo, Radaris and Whitepages in the same week, search again for name variants, and repeat every three to four months, since brokers relist profiles when new records arrive.
Will reporting a doxxing post tell the poster who reported it?
The platforms named here do not tell the poster who filed a report. Published guides to Kick's report system say it does not disclose the reporter's details without consent, and 4chan reports are anonymous. A poster can still guess, because the target is the obvious reporter, so preserve evidence before reporting.
A dox that keeps coming back?
Send the links to the posts and any people-search profiles you have found. The review states which venue and which broker can still act, in what order, and what no request will remove.
